Wealthsimple
Wealthsimple Credit Card
Flat 2% cash back with no FX fee, in two tiers (Visa Infinite + and Visa Infinite Privilege).
Highlights
- 2% unlimited cash back on purchases, redeemed manually in-app to a Wealthsimple account.
- No Wealthsimple foreign-transaction (FX) fee on purchases in another currency.
- $240/yr fee (billed $20/month, or annually for Quebec residents) is waived with a qualifying $4,000/month direct deposit, or $100k+ in eligible individual net deposits/assets.
- The 2% card has two tiers, assigned by Wealthsimple. You qualify for a tier by meeting at least one of four criteria: for Visa Infinite + that is income $80k+/$150k+ household, $25k+ annual spend, or $300k+ in assets at Wealthsimple; Visa Infinite Privilege uses the same criteria at higher levels ($150k+/$200k+ income, $50k+ spend, or $400k+ assets). Clients who do not qualify for the 2% card may be offered a separate, free Visa Infinite 1% card (invite-only beta).
- The Privilege tier adds airport lounge access and higher travel-insurance limits over Infinite + (some insurance benefits are not available to Quebec residents); a complimentary concierge comes with both tiers.
Best for: Wealthsimple clients who want flat-rate cash back, no foreign-transaction surcharge, and a fee they can waive with a direct deposit.
